Agboola Ajayi is a Nigerian politician, lawyer, and businessman. He served as the deputy governor of Ondo State from 2017 to 202. He began his political career under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) but, he later joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Agboola Ajayi also served as a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing the Ilaje/Ese Odo federal constituency under the PDP.
In June 2020, Ajayi resigned from the ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC) and defected to the opposition party Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing irreconcilable differences with his governor, Rotimi Akeredolu. He later joined the Zenith Labour Party after losing the PDP gubernatorial primaries to Eyitayo Jegede.

Agboola Ajayi was born on September 24, 1968 in Ondo State, Nigeria. His parents are Chief Newton Ajayi and Mrs. Rebecca Ogunjinte.
Agboola Ajayi attended a Community High School in Kiribo and later moved to Methodist High School in Ondo State for his secondary education. For his university studies, he enrolled at Igbinedion University in Edo State, where he earned a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) degree.
Agboola Ajayi graduated with honors, achieving a second class upper division, and was subsequently called to the bar in 2010 after completing his legal education at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja.
