Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, Soyannwo advanced to the Federal School of Arts and Science for his A-Levels, completing them in 1987 with commendable results.

His academic journey did not stop there; he was admitted to the University of Lagos, where he diligently worked towards and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Hons.) Degree in Economics in 1992. Further honing his expertise, Soyannwo also earned an MBA (General Management) from the renowned Lagos Business School.

Gboyega Soyannwo’s professional career began at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in 1992, where he served as a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

After completing his service year, Soyannwo transitioned into the private sector, where he held various roles in esteemed financial institutions. His career path led him through Financial Services Consultants Limited and STACO Insurance Plc., where he gained valuable insights into the insurance industry. He further expanded his expertise at the National Bank of Nigeria Limited (now WEMA Bank Plc.), contributing to the bank’s growth and development.

Soyannwo’s tenure in the banking sector continued to flourish as he joined Zenith Bank Plc., one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions. His skills and leadership qualities were further honed at Oceanic Bank International Plc (now Eco Bank Plc.), where he eventually rose to the position of Group Head of Commercial Banking.

In December 2009, Soyannwo made a significant career shift by joining First Class Group Limited as Director of Finance and Strategy. This role allowed him to leverage his extensive experience in finance and strategy, overseeing the company’s financial operations and contributing to its strategic direction.

The year 2019 marked a pivotal moment in Soyannwo’s career as he entered the realm of public service. He was appointed as the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCoS) to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. His appointment was a testament to his leadership abilities and his commitment to serving the public.
