Ankita Sharma is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer who made history as the first female IPS officer from Chhattisgarh. She has played a crucial role in Naxalite operations in the Bastar district, a region affected by Naxal insurgency.
Ankita Sharma’s path to success was not without challenges. She faced two failed attempts before finally clearing the UPSC exam in 2018. Her All India Rank (AIR) was 203 in that year. As a result of her achievement, she became the first female IPS officer in Chhattisgarh to receive a home cadre.
Previously, she served as the Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) in the neighborhood of Azad Chowk in the capital city of Raipur.

Her first posting as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Bijapur exposed her to the challenges of the Maoist insurgency, where she demonstrated exemplary leadership in anti-Maoist operations and community policing.
Ankita’s career progression saw her taking on the role of Superintendent of Police (SP) for the Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district.
