Salasya’s educational journey began at Shianderema Primary School, where he completed his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 2005. He then proceeded to Lubinu Boys High School, where he continued to cultivate his academic and leadership skills. The loss of his father during his second year of high school could have derailed his studies, but Salasya remained focused, demonstrating an unwavering spirit that would later define his political career.

In a significant career shift, Salasya entered the banking sector, where he served as the Operations Director at Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) up to 2017. His role at DTB provided him with valuable insights into the financial world, which would later inform his political policies and strategies.

Salasya’s political aspirations were evident early on, as he vied for leadership positions during his time at university. Although his initial attempts were unsuccessful, they did not deter his determination to lead and serve.

The 2017 General Election marked Salasya’s first foray into national politics. He campaigned on a handcart pushed around by his supporters, a testament to his grassroots appeal and connection with the people. Despite not winning, he managed to garner the third-highest number of votes, setting the stage for his future success.

Salasya’s breakthrough came in the 2022 elections, where his lack of a house became campaign ammunition for his competitors. However, his supporters rallied behind him, collecting money to help build a semi-permanent structure, which was later converted into a permanent house by Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa. Salasya won the Mumias East race with 12,140 votes, becoming a first-time MP and fulfilling his dream of serving the people of his constituency.
