Siminalayi Joseph Black-Fubara, better known as Sim Fubara, is the current Governor of Rivers State, Nigeria. He assumed office on May 29, 2023, succeeding Ezenwo Wike. Before becoming governor, he served as the Accountant General of Rivers State from December 2020 to May 2022.
His career began in 2003 as a principal accountant with the Rivers State Senior Secondary Schools Board, and he rose through the ranks to become the director of finance and accounts at the State’s government house in 2015, and later the position of permanent secretary in March 2020. He is also recognized as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management and the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria.
